Harder Wins PokerStars Championship Bahamas Main Event

The United States poker specialist Christian Harder has become richer by $429,664 after winning the main event at the 2017 PokerStars Championship Bahamas.


This is the first PokerStars event to be held in the Bahamas and this victory to Harder came after he struck a deal with second placed fellow countryman Cliff Josephy. The third place was bagged by another American by the name Michael Vela and he ended up earning $259,980 as the prize money. The heads-up deal with Josephy paved the way for Christian Harder to win the six-handed final table.

The final day started at noon and it soon became five-handed with Rasmus Glaesel bidding goodbye after losing in the seventh hand to Josephy. The next player took a long time to go and he battled for almost seven hours. This player was Michael Gentili who started the final day with the most number of chips in hand. He had played for 99 hands after the exit of Rasmus before bowing out of the event in the 106th total hand. He won $140,940 for the fifth place finish.   (more…)

Mercier Plays Tournament After Marriage

We often hear stories of how pro players are friends off the tables in poker tournaments.


Hence it should come as no surprise that Jason Mercier and Natasha had found love while playing at the different poker tournaments and meets. Indeed, poker events are great venues to meet new people. As most poker events are arranged over extended weekends, you get to meet several new people and spend time with them in the different activities and events that are usually arranged in festivals and tournaments. Many people have found friends and acquaintances over such events.

Jason and Natasha culminated their friendship in marriage about a week back. The venue of their marriage was in South Florida. They were, however, already registered to participate in the main event of Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open tournament. There were about 760 entries in total and both of them made it to the final four tables. The buy in was about the amount $3500. Both the Merciers were unable to make it further in the event and they finished in 35th and 36th positions respectively. (more…)

PCA US$ 25000 High Roller: Dustin Johns tops stacked pack on Day 1

We all know that the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure US$ 25000 High Roller is one of the most stacked tournaments of the year. This year is also not different at all. Following the Day 1, US player Dustin Johns guide the path with 298100 in chips. He was followed by World Poker Tour champs Olivier Busquet and Jared Jaffee. The 1st day of this tournament attracted a total of two-hundred-fourteen participants, with late registration open till the beginning of Day 2.
Olivier, who also got hold of the €50000 Super High Roller at the EPT Barcelona for €896434 in the year 2014 after defeating his good buddy Daniel Colman heads up, had a stellar day and he bag up 257400 while he is in planning for a 6-figure MMA match against JC Alvarado.
Brian Yoon, the 2 time WSOP bracelet winner got 294000 after having held the chip lead for most of the day. Brian defeated Georgios Sotiropoulos with queens to ace-king, and after that put him at the top. Faraz Jaka, who ended 3rd in the PCA Main Event in the year 2012, ended with 254900, whereas 4-time WPT chap Marvin Rettenmaier will have 190,100 to Day 2.
